We promote an ecologically rich and economically prosperous future for current and future generations.

For nearly seven decades, the George B. Storer Foundation has invested in organizations and people dedicated to positive change in their communities. Today, Foundation board and staff carry this legacy forward through investments in the lives of our youngest learners, protection of our climate and natural world, pursuit of a healthy and prosperous Wyoming, and a commitment to fostering an engaged and just society.

Wyoming Landscapes & Communities

Wyoming is the Foundation’s home base, and our work is grounded in its unique landscapes and ecosystems. Pride in our wild lands and our commitment to preserving them, however, often comes in conflict with a state economy that is exceedingly dependent on fossil fuel extraction. We believe that a diversified economy that supports strong communities is essential for an ecologically rich and prosperous future – for the state, and to no small extent, the globe.

Early Childhood Education

The Foundation believes in developing healthy, happy, creative and curious children. We believe achieving this goal requires the integration of developmentally appropriate, natural and imaginative learning opportunities into the fabric of early childhood education.

Climate & Democracy

The Foundation believes that the dual crises of climate change and the erosion of democratic norms pose the greatest threat to our collective future. Healthy democracies cannot survive in a world plagued with natural disasters, food scarcity, and uninhabitable lands. Similarly, elected leaders must respect the rule of law and uphold a fact-based ethos to bring about an orderly transition to a new clean economy.
